Top Note Die

It is beautiful in Southern California this morning. Sunny and in the high 70's today. That's my kind of winter weather.

Can't beleive it is the last day of 2011 already. We plan to celebrate with dinner at Applebee's and then a quite evening together at home. Good way to end the year.

This card I copied from Tammie Ackerson's blog. It is so simple to do and so cute. Everyone in card class just loved him. I really like making cards using the punches. I may have to design more of these.

Just a Note

Thought I would take a few minutes tonight to let you know why I haven't been posting. My husband had a heart attack on Wednesday before Christmas and had 2 stints put in over the 2 he already had. He came home on Friday feeling very well.
We had a wonderful Christmas with our son and his family and thought everything was o.k. However, I left him for about 15 minutes Monday morning to pick up a couple things at the grocery store and he called to tell me he wasn't feeling good. I told him to call 911 and he did. When I got home they were ready to leave with him. He had another heart spell and they took him to emergency.
It was a blood clot in one of the stints and it happened because he wasn't given the medicine he needed to take for the previous procedure. So they cleared the clot and he will be coming home tomorrow I think unless someone changes their mind. Anyway it has been quite a week.

I will not be holding my class on the 7th to make the Calendars. I hope we can do it another day during January but I will let you know. I should have card class on the 14th as planned and club on the 21st if everything goes o.k.

Thanks for all your prayers and best wishes. I appreciate you all so much.
Hugs,
June

Field Flowers

Good morning! The sun is shinning today at least for a while. Still could get some showers. Our mountains look beautiful with the foot plus of snow they got. It's a good day to just be happy and stamp.

Last month I did a baggie book for my demonstrator team with the Field Flowers stamp set and I thought I would share it with all of you. This is one perk of becoming a demonstrator. Every month I do a baggie book with a different stamp set. It gives my demos 5 different cards to use with the same stamp set. We also usually do a swap card so we get even more ideas to use in classes and at parties.

Let me know if you would like to join next month.

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.

Cracked Glass Technique

It is a very wet morning here today. We had some really hard rain yesterday and still some lingering light showers today. Good day for stamping!

I thought I would show you today what we did in the Technique Club in November. You can even see the cracks in the picture here. That is such a neat look and this stamp set, even though it is retired, is great to use for this technique. It is so old looking to begin with and the cracked glass look really sets it off.

The box and matching card are from Sandi McIver. She is such a great stamper and has some really unique designs. I used both of these as decorations on a table this year instead of putting a gift in the box. I really love the sparkle of the glitter paper. So festive looking!!

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.

Field Flowers

Good Morning! It is a cool sunny morning in Southern California today. We even had a thin layer of ice on our bird bath at 8 am. It got down to 30 degrees last night. That is way to cool for me but I am thankful it will warm up into the 60's by noon.

I had my party for my card class members yesterday and we had a wonderful time. The fellowship was fantastic and the food and punch went over well. I believe a good time was had by all and I will certainly plan to do it again next year.

This is another of our November card class cards. I really like the flowers in this set. They are just so cool looking and easy to work with.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Set: Field Flowers

Lace Ribbon Border Punch

Well Thanksgiving and Black Friday are over and all is well. I didn't go out for early shopping however, I did go shopping on Saturday at City Lights Christmas store and oh my goodness! That shop is almost as good as Bronners in Michigan. Not quite as large but what a variety of decorations. You could even have a Mermaid tree if you like that sort of decor. I was amazed and pleasantly pleased with my purchases from there. I just love Christmas!! It is my favorite holiday and I could stay decorated all year round if someone would let me.

I am getting ready for my open house this Saturday. I have invited my regular card class attenders to a special fun time just to thank them for their continued support. I have come to love each one of them in a special way and count them all as friends not just customers. Stampin' Up has a way of doing that for you. I am so happy to be a part of such a great company.

This is the 2nd card we did in November. I was playing with the punch one day and punched a piece of designer paper like what's pictured here and thought Wow! that would look awesome on a card. So here it is.

Card Recipe:

Stamp set: Well Scripted (retired)

Card stock: Pink Pirouette 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and a scrap for the Scallop Oval punch, Concord Crush 4 x 5 1/4, Flirtatious DSP 3 x 3 3/4 punched once in the center with the Scallop Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Wisteria Wonder for the Decorative Label punch

Ink: Concord Crush

Accessories: punches, Whisper White taffeta ribbon and Dimensionals

Hand Penned Holidays

Wow it has been a long time since I was here. Life sure has a way of distracting you from what you would really like to be doing.

Please continue to pray for my daughter Laurie and husband. They are at Uof M Medical Hospital today to see when they will do his stem cell transplant. It has been a long, grueling road so far and they really need some relief. She finally got to have some fun yesterday with her first card class in Michigan. They did a Christmas Stamp-a-Stack and that was so good for her. She needed the deversion.

This card is the first of my November card class. We had such fun and we also had one new person come and we so enjoyed having her. We made the last of the Christmas cards this month as next meeting will be closer to Christmas, so we did 4 Christmas this month. I hope you like them and will use them to make your own.

Card Recipe:

Stamp set: Hand-Penned Holidays (I love this one)

Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and 1 3/4 x 4 1/4, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP 1 3/4 x 5 1/2, Very Vanilla 1 1/2 x 4

Ink: Black Stazon

Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Dotted Ribbon, Big Shot with Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Always Artichoke Seam Binding, Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots

I just love this card, simple but elegant looking. In club for December we will make the box that matches this card (designed by Sandi McIver). Sandi is such a great person and does some really beautiful designs. I just love seeing all she makes.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

Christmas Lodge

Had to have some tests this a.m. but am back and on the job now. Hope you are all having a great morning and Ruth I hope you are having a great vacation. You deserve one.

Please keep my daughter and her husband in your prayers today as he is having a very rough time with his chemo. Hopefully he will get the cell transplant and every thing will get back to normal real soon.

I was glad to hear that Teri is home from the hospital and I am praying she is getting better quickly. So much sickness, I don't like it.

This is one of the Christmas cards we did in October. I try to do at least 2 Christmas cards each month after I do the stamp-a-stack because that gives everyone a few more choices for cards to give.

I really love this stamp set and I know it will not be in my retired sale even if it retires. The lodge looks like one in our local mountains and I just love going there. This tree is also the perfect Christmas tree, I used to look for one like this when we went to the woods to cut our own.

Card Recipe:
Stamp sets:  Christmas Lodge and Many Merry Messages

Cardstock: Riding Hood Red 4 1/4 x 11 and 7/8 x 3 7/8, Frostwood Lodge DSP 4 x 5 1/4, Garden Green 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 and Whisper White 3 1/8 x 4 3/8 and 3/4 x 3 3/4

Ink: Garden Green and Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Basic Rhinestones or silver brads and Dimensionals

Butterfly Prints

We are in a mess today with the painting but it will all be over soon. It's looking good and the rooms will be much brighter. I am lovin' it. My son is so good to me.

I know my children in Michigan were disappointed with the game yesterday between, Michigan and Michigan State. It's too bad State had to win. Maybe next time!

This is another of our October cards. I am really going to use that Perfectly Penned set a lot. It just looks so good.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Set: Perfectly Penned and Butterfly Prints

Cardstock: Melon Mambo 4 1/4 x 11, Wild Wasabi 4 x 5 1/4 and 3 x 3 3/4 and scrap for scallop circle, Whisper White 3 3/4 x 5, scraps for circle, butterfly and sentiment, Beyond the Garden DSP 2 3/4 x 3 1/2

Perfectly Penned

What a busy day! Bonnie and I worked on cards and just had a good time together all day. She is such a blessing.

Tomorrow is painting day again. My kitchen and family room ceiling and the walls in the family room will all be a  nice Capicino color by tomorrow night. I so appreciate our son and Debbie. It would never get done if I had to do it. My arms just don't reach up well anymore. I am so excited to see the finished product.

Here is another card from October's card class. I am loving the stamp set Perfectly Penned. Such elegant writting and that art is almost lost.

Perfectly Penned

Good afternoon to you all. This is a hot beautiful day and I mean hot. 95 degrees in Santee at 2 pm. Of course the air is on and it is very pleasant in here.(lol)

I'm getting ready for my first club meeting on October 22nd. So far we have 5 members. If you would like to become a member email or phone me and we will talk about it. If you don't want to be a member you can just come and make the cards and not participate in any of the benefits. It's your choice.

This is the second card for October. I really love this cursive lettering. There are four stamps in the set and they are all this gorgeous writing. Gives our cards a lot of class.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Set: Perfectly Penned

Cardstock: River Rock 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and 2 1/4 x 2 1/4, Paisley Petals DSP 4 x 5 1/4, Chocolate Chip 2 1/2 x 2 1/2, Whisper White 2 x 2

Gently Falling

It's time to start getting ready for November's card class now. I would like to get them done early for a change. It seems I am working until the last minute every month now. Maybe this month will be different.

Fall has been in the air for a few days and now tomorrow we go back to summer for a couple of days. Supposed to be mid 90's for Wednesday and Thursday and then cooler for the week-end. Very mild Santa-anna coming through from the North. Fire alert out for San Diego County, especially in the north county area of Fall Brook. There is a lot of dead trees and grass up that way so they say.

Here is the first of the 8 cards we did this month. Eleven ladies did these and they had such a good time. I am so blessed to have such faithful and wonderful friends. They are my friends not just card class people. Everyone means something special to me and I just want to say thank you for letting me get to know you.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Sets: Gently Falling and Thankful For (retired)

Card stock: Cajun Craze 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 1 1/2 and 4 1/4, Very Vanilla 4 x 5 1/4 and 2 1/4 x 4, So Saffron 2 1/2 x 4 1/4

Ink: More Mustard, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Lucky Limeade

Accessories: 1/4" Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.

Always Thankful

I really love this stamp set and have used it for several cards already. It gives a real feeling for fall.

Card class went very well yesterday and everyone loved the new cards. We even had a snack of Shortbread Cookies made with Stampin' Up's new cookie press tool. Of course I used the pumpkin image one and everyone loved them. Only one left from the whole batch, so guess they passed the test.

This is the last card from the September card class. I love these colors together and I am really lovin' using the wide ribbon. It just gives a card a special look.

Punch Card

We had some really nice rain showers yesterday and today is still cloudy with the sun peeking out every once in a while. Nice time of the year, fall. I love it!!

We had a good team meeting last night. I was able to help with some training on the Stampin' Up website and personal blog training as well. One of the ladies taught us some new gift ideas and all in all we had an enjoyable evening!

I saw a card similar to this on someone's blog(sorry I can't remember who's it was) and decided to see what my ladies would think of it. They loved it and it is so easy to make. I know some of my friends and relatives will get this for Christmas. So cute!!!

My Friend

It is very cool here this morning, time for jeans and sweaters. We are to get more rain later today and it is to be pretty severe with wind I understand but we really needed the rain. It gets very dry in the summer and I am looking forward to everything turning green again.

I spent yesterday with one of my Tuesday card class ladies, she couldn't make next week's class so she did it early this month. We had a blast just the two of us in my stamping studio. I wouldn't mind having someone come every day to stamp with me. I spend a lot of time in here and it was nice to have someone to talk to. Thanks Bonnie for a great day!!

Here is another September card class card. I love this set. We are doing a card in October with it but a totally different color and layout and I love it!!

Card Recipe:

Stamp sets: My Friend and Thank You Kindly

Thank You Kindly

Hard to believe it is October already. Where has the year gone? Fall is in the air this morning, cooler temps and we are to get rain tomorrow and Wednesday. We sure need that.
I really have to work today, I still have 3 cards to create for card class on Saturday and I have one person coming early tomorrow to do the class because she is going out of town and won't be here to do it Saturday. I seem to have trouble creating this month, don't know why. Hopefully everything will turn out great with God's help.

Stitched Stockings

I went to breakfast at the club house this morning and found out that a neighbor had died this week. He was only in his late 50's and had just totally redone his house and bought a new pick up that hadn't even received it's new license as yet. It really makes me think how fragile life is and how it can be snuffed out in a blink of an eye. I think God may be saying make the most of today it may be your last. We do tend to take things for granted and we certainly should not do that. I would say live this day to the fullest, do whatever good you can do for someone else and enjoy every moment of it.

Now on to happier things. It's a beautiful day and I am working on cards for Saturday's card class. Thinking I would rather be at the bay watching the boats and reading a good book. Maybe tomorrow if I get everything done today. We are supposed to have a cooler week and maybe some rain so I should enjoy the sunshine while I can.

Here is the 3rd card from September's card class. I really love this new stamp set and matching punch. I am so glad we are getting more of the punches to match stamp sets. My people really love punches, they say they work much better than scissors.(lol)

I used Always Artichoke 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 for the main card. Riding Hood Red is 4 x 5 1/4, Confetti White is 3 3/4 x 5. The sentiment is from Many Merry Messages and stamped in Riding Hood Red ink. The stockings are done in Garden Green and Riding Hood Red ink. The accessories used are: the Stocking Punch, Jingle Bells, Linen Thread, Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you tomorrow.

Happiest Birthday Wishes

My goodness it is Friday already and I still haven't designed a card for next Saturday's card class. Guess today I had better get to work.

Looking forward to some cooler weather and the feel of fall in the air. This is my favorite time of the year. Traveling to the mountains now is the best, changing leaves and cool air and seeing all God's wonderful creations. We will be planning some trips after card class is done.

Here is the 2nd card in the September card class series. I just love this color, Wisteria Wonder.

The card is Wisteria Wonder 4 1/4 x 11. Whisper White is 4 x 5 1/4. The butterfly is also punched  from Wisteria Wonder with the butterfly punch. I used the Big shot and the Designer Frames Embossing folder to put the oval frame on the white. The top corners are done with the Scallop Corner Trim Punch and the ribbon is Wisteria Wonder Ruffled ribbon. The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes. I finished it off with a row of small Basic Pearls for the butterfly body. Of course I used dimensionals to mount the butterfly and for the Whisper White layer. Totally awesome card to get for your birthday!!

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you tomorrow.

Sneak Peek

I have had another busy day. One lady came to finish her gift items and then had to do some grocery shopping. Finally I am on the computer for a while to get some work done.

This picture shows what everyone made at my Sneak Preview of the new Holiday Mini Catalog. We had a good time and 8 ladies were present. Of course everyone loved all the new products and my orders were over $400, so it was not just a fun evening but a properous one as well. Thanks to all of you who participated and I know you are loving your new products. That scoring tool is so awesome!! I don't know how I ever did without one.

Everyone loved the Santa boot card and 3 Stocking Dies for the Big Shot were purchased along with the accessories die. It would make a cute stocking banner to hang up for Christmas. I might have to try one.

The fall card was done with the Always Thankful stamp set. Of course the boot was done with the Stocking Die and the Silver Glitter paper. The box is one of a set of 4 that you can purchase from the Holiday Mini and is decorated with Holly Berry Bouquet DSP from the same catalog. It was a fun night for all and I certainly will do another when the next mini catalog is released.

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you tomorrow.

Big Shot Class August

Guess it's time I got back to blogging. Missed a few days because I was so busy with our gift class. We had so much fun on Saturday, laughing, joking, and just having good clean fun. I have a tremendous group of ladies and I dearly love them all. They really enjoyed the 5 gifts that we made and I will have them on here as soon as I get caught up with other posts.
This was our Big Shot class in August. We had a terrfic time with it and everyone loved the projects. If you want to have fun and learn some new things you should really join us next time.

We made two cards and three boxes using the Big Shot and dies, embossing folders, etc.I tryed using an embossing folder on the Spice Cake DSP for the Grateful card. I used the polka dot one and it sure gave it a different look. I liked it very much and so did my ladies. The Happy Birthday card was done with the new Pennant die and came out so cute. Of course we had to use Basic Rhinestones for a little glimmer. We used the Box #2 die for the little basket on the right. We cut two and put them together back to back with sticky strip, then decorated with dsp from the Santa's Letters pack. The fall basket we did with the Two Tag Die. We cut 2 of them and put a strip in the middle, secured everything with sticky strip and finished with a handle secured with two brads. Last but not least we did the new Blossom Box Die. It is a little frustrating until you learn how to handle everything,(I made 4 before I got one I really liked) but now I can make a good one each time. It is a matter of molding and creasing your card stock just right and once you master that you can have a lot of fun with this die. My ladies said they didn't want to do another anytime soon. I think they will change their minds, they all did a great job and we had some really beautiful boxes when we finished.

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you tomorrow.

June

Snow Much Fun

Blogger wants to fight against me this morning. That doesn't sound like a fun session. Anyway, Good Morning to you all! Sorry I haven't posted in a while but life gets busy.

Card class was so great again this month. We had 8 ladies and one was new. She really enjoyed it and plans to come back and bring her daughter. We used the new scoring tool and they all loved that! It is an awesome tool. So much easier to bend your card and have it look great!

I really like this stamp set. It can be used for more than Christmas. This card just says somebody likes you as much as me. Cute saying!

Stamp set: Snow Much Fun

Cardstock: Pool Party 4 1/4 x 11 and 4 inch square for punching the 2 3/8" scallop circle, Calypso Coral and the Two Tag Die with the Big Shot (use the small tag), Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4 and a 3" square to stamp the image on and punch out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I used the Polka Dot Embossing Folder on the Whisper White and the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder on the small tag.

Ink: Black Stazon

Accessories: Pool Party and Calypso Coral markers, White Organza Ribbon

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you tomorrow.

Happy Greetings

The air is on already and at 11 am it was 94 degrees outside. Not quite as humid today but still an uncomfortable day.

One more day until card class. I really look forward to the second Saturday every month. I have so many nice friends who come to have fun and make cards. Hope you can join us one of these months.

This card is using one of my favorite stamp sets and DSP. Stamp sets are Fabulous Florets and Happy Greetings. Cardstock is Pacific Point 4 1/4 x 11, Whisper White 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, Beyond the Garden DSP 3x4 (2 different pieces same size). I used scraps of Whisper White to stamp the flowers and sentiment on, and scraps of Lucky Limeade for the leaves. Rose Red, Daffodil Delight & Tangerine Tango are the inks used. The ribbon is 6" of Lucky Limeade Ruffled ribbon and the centers of the flowers are sparkling with our new glitter glue. I used the Scallop Circle Punch for the sentiment and my Paper Snips to cut the flowers. The leaves were punched with the Blossom Petals Builder punch.

Hope you like it as much as I and will get inspired to make your own.

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.

Hugs,
June

Simply Soft

Good morning! It is hot and muggy in Southern California today and supposed to be this way all week. I don't like it. Makes me feel like I am back in Michigan and it is July instead of September.
It's almost time for card class again and I haven't finished blogging August cards as yet. Life has been busy. Hopefully I can get them posted this week.

This is called a Center Step Card. You can get directions for making one on Split Coast Stampers. I just love the colors we used, new Wisteria Wonder for the base 5 1/4 x 10 1/4. It fits in our 5 1/2" envelopes. I used Flirtatious DSP, pink is 3 x 4 1/4, yellow is 7/8 x 4 5/8 cut in (2) 1" pieces and the rest used in center and stamped from Sincere Salutations, purple is (2) 1 x 4 strips cut on both sides with the Eyelet Border Punch. I used Wisteria Wonder ink and the Lucky Limeade marker. I used images from Simply Soft (hostess set). The finishing touch is 12" of Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon. Awesome card!!

Hope you all had a great week-end and are ready for some stamping. If you live in the San Diego area and would like to join us, we meet this Saturday at 1pm at my home for some stamping fun.

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.

Natures Silhouette

Happy September 1 to you all. Hard to believe it is fall already. The seasons seem to pass more quickly every year. Feel like my life is moving in the fast lane.

Had a great Big Shot class on Tuesday. We are having to say good-bye to one of our members as she is moving to Florida. We will miss you Amy and hope you can come back to us someday. We will be praying for you and your husband and family.

This card was inspired by some new designer series paper in the new Holiday Mini that went live this morning. It's called Frostwood Lodge and has a lot of wood looking designs for the male friends and family members cards. I love this stag, he looks so majestic and I'm pretty sure my sons would like to meet him in the woods come hunting season in Michigan.

I started with Early Espresso CS 4 1/4 x 11 for the main card base. Next layer is DSP from the Frostwood Lodge collection 4 x 5 1/4, next one is 3 1/4" square and the next is one 3" square. Under the deer is Crumb Cake 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 and the deer is stamped on a 2 x 3 piece that really looks like White Birch, my favorite wood. I stamped the sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes on a piece of Naturals White and punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. The Early Espresso under it was also punched with the same punch.

Stunning birthday for any deer lover.

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.
Hugs,
June
