Fabulous Florets

I have had a rough week and just decided I need to post anyway. I did something to my back and left hip at my last card class and have been barely able to walk all week. I will see the doctor tomorrow and see if there's anything she can do about it. It is getting pretty unbareable.

We are under a flash flood warning today, however it is sunny and warm and I don't see the threat of rain and thunder they are predicting. We could use some rain but no floods or thunder please.

Here is another card from our July card class. I love this paper and the stamp set. I used Fabulous Florets and the sentiment is from Upsy Daisy.

I started with a So Saffron card 4 1/2 x 11. Then layered it with Tangerine Tango 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. Next layer is Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4. I then went with a smaller layer of Tangerine Tango 2 1/2 x 5 and covered it with a layer 2 1/4 x 4 3/4 from Beyond the Garden DSP. I then took two pieces of 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, one Pumpkin Pie and one Daffodil Delight, tied them together around my layers in a double knot. Next layer is So Saffron 2 1/2 x 4 and then Whisper White 2 1/4 x 3 3/4. The flowers were cut out with scissors and put on with dimensionals. I used Old Olive and Tangerine Tango ink.

Hope you like it as much as we did. It is such a bright and cheery card. It would also be good for a get well card or sympathy card.

Thanks for stoppin and I'll see you soon.

Hugs,
June

Swirls and Curls Verses

This has been such a busy week. It's been filled with classes, doctor's appointments and shopping. I finally got my hair curled today so it looks much better. My hair is so straight you could use it for a ruler without measurements on it. It is also thin and very fine so it really needed something. I finally found a good hair dresser so I am very happy today.

Now it's time to get busy and do my 28 swap cards for my friend, Lauren. She is hosting a swap and is also getting ready to move. She's a busy lady as well. I will be putting my swap card up a little later down the road.

This is number 5 for the July card class. I love the cupcake builders punch. It is so easy to make cupcakes with no fuss or messy ink.
I started with a Very Vanilla card 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. My Chocolate Chip layer is 4 x 5 1/2 and punched on one long side with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. Next layer is Very Vanilla 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 and stamped with Happy Birthday from the Swirls and Curls Verses stamp set. I wrapped a piece of Chocolate Chip Scallop Polka Ribbon around both layers before adhereing them to the card front. Of course the cupcakes were punched with the Cupcake Builders Punch in chocolate chip and pretty in pink cardstock. I just love this card and so did my ladies. It's so easy to make.

Hope this inspires you to purchase the punch if you haven't already and design a card of your own. Of course you are free to copy this one as long as you don't use it for a contest or any challenge.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

Elizabeth

It's Monday morning and time to get back to work. We had a great Big Shot class on Saturday. Had a lot of fun, learned some new things and made 5 great projects. We even had a jelly bean treat in one of our projects - they really liked that! I do another class tomorrow and then I am free until August 6th when I do the Christmas Stamp-A-Stack. If you live in the San Diego area and would like to join us, just email me and let me know by August 4th. We will do 20 cards and envelopes, 5 each of 4 different designs, for $25. Looking forward to using some new stamps from the new catalog.

This is another card from our July card class. I used the new Calypso Coral for the main card 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The DSP layer is from the Paisley Petals collection and is 4 x 5 1/4. The next layer is Calypso Coral 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 and then Very Vanilla 3 1/4 x 4 1/4. The ribbon is Crumb Cake Seam Binding and the flowers were punched with the 5 Petal Flower Punch. We used the ticket corner punch on all corners. I added a pearl for some bling and used Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral ink. Sweet card!!

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon. Have a great week!

God's Blessings

I love the new incolors. They are so compatible with our core colors as well as with each other. The names are too awesome!

Tomorrow is my Big Shot class and I have another one on Tuesday. Looking forward to helping my customers who have bought Big Shots know how to use each accessory. I have some great cards and projects for them and they will have some time to just play with my products. Should be a great day all around.

For this card I used one of the new incolors and some new ribbon. The color is Lucky Limeade and the ribbon is the incolor ruffled ribbon in Lucky Limeade. Base card is Peach Parfait 4 1/4 x 11. Lucky Limeade is the next layer and is 4 x 5 1/4. The dsp is the Peach Parfait and is 3 3/4 x 5. Sentiment is from God's Blessings and cut with the Scallop Circle Punch. Flowers are Lucky Limeade punched with the Boho Blossoms punch. My customers were so happy I made the bows for them.

Hope this inspires you to create.
Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

Happy Greetings

I am so thankful for the pleasant weather we have been having, compared to the Eastern part of the country. I really feel for the people there, the humidity alone would kill me, to say nothing of the 90 plus temperatures. My daughter will be so glad to get back to California in a few months. After all this heat they will get record cold temperatures this winter no doubt. She doesn't handle either very well.

Her husband is doing well with the chemo treatments and is looking forward to coming out here also. We will be so happy to have them here.

My son put a new large window in my dining room on the week-end. I think my card class will be very happy with it next month. It was so dark in that room and this window has just opened up the whole house to more light. I just love it.

For this card I used the new incolor, Wisteria Wonder. Beautiful color. The card is Whisper White 4 1/4 x 11. I then put on a layer of Wisteria Wonder 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. Center layers are Flirtatious DSP 2 3/4 x 3 and Whisper White 2 1/2 x 3. I used the stamp set Happy Greetings and Victoria Lace to cover the seam where they meet. The circles were punched with the Scallop Circle and the 1 3/8" punches. A clear Rhinestone Brad is in the center. I used the 3/16th corner punch on the corners.

Simple but lovely card. Hope you are inspired to create one of your own.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

Hugs,
June

Flirtatious

I love this paper!!! I also love the new doily stamp sets that are in the new 2011-2012 catalog. If you don't have yours yet, let me know. I have them available for free if you book a workshop with me or join one of my classes or they are also available for sale. Email me if you would like one.

My last Saturday card class was awesome! Ten ladies were present and the Tuesday one had 4. Wow, what a time we had. I hope you will like the cards as much as my ladies did. Feel free to copy and use them for your own classes or personal use. I would appreciate you not entering them in any contest or challenges.

This was the easiest one we did. No stamping or cutting. The doily came from one of the sheets in the Flirtatious Designer Series paper pack. I used Rose Red cardstock for the basic card 4 1/4 x 11. Next layer is from the Flirtatious paper pack 4 x 5 1/4. The Pink Pirouette square is 3 1/4" square and the Rose Red one is 3" square. The doily is put on with dimensionals and so is the Pink Pirouette square. The design in the center is punched from Rose Red cardstock with the new Lace Ribbon Border Punch( I love it) and put on with snail adhesive. We also used the 3/16 Corner Rounder punch.

Very simple to make but a very nice card to give for any occasion.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you tomorrow.

June

Four Frames

Good morning! Yesterday was an awesome day! 10 ladies attended this month's card class and we had so much fun! We had carrot cake cupcakes for Judi's birthday and embarassed her by singing to her. The cupcakes were from Albertson's grocery store and were they ever
de-li-cious!!!

Now I am getting ready for a team meeting tomorrow night and another card class on Tuesday. This one won't be as large but we will have just as much fun.

This is the last of June's card class cards but not the least. Very pretty vintage look without the sponging.

I used Naturals White for the card 4 1/4 x 11. I layered that with Rose Red 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. Next layer is Dsp from Springtime Vintage Collection 4 x 5 1/8 and punched along the bottom edge with the Scallop Border Trim Punch. Next layer is Rose Red 3 x 4 and topped with Whisper White 2 3/4 x 3 3/4. I stamped the image from Herb Expressions on that and then stamped one image from the Four Frames Stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. Next I stamped a sentiment from Elements of Style on a piece of Rose Red and punched it out with the Scallop Oval Punch. I used Rose Red and Pear Pizzazz markers to color the image and accented the flowers with small Basic Rhinestones. I used Rose Red Seam Binding under the punched images and around the dsp layer. Nice clean vintage look.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

Hugs,
June

Sail Away

It is going to be another hot and muggy day here today. I won't complain though because at least we are not having thunder storms or tornado's or earthquakes. It is a typical July day I guess. More humid than usual but we have a monsoon off the coast that is causing it. I am very thankful for air conditioning.

I have my cards all created for Saturday and we have 10 scheduled for attendance. We should have a fantastic time. I have several new ones and that is always good. I can't wait to meet them and welcome them to our card family.

This has become one of my favorite stamp sets, Sail Away and I used the sentiment from Sincere Salutations. I started with a Night of Navy card 4 1/4 x 11. Put a layer of Nautical Expedition DSP 2 x 5 1/4 on next. Image piece is Whisper White 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 layered on a piece of Cherry Cobbler 3 x 3 1/2. The wide oval is Cherry Cobbler and the Scallop Oval is Whisper White. These are done with punches. I used the Word Window punch and Crumb Cake cardstock for the pillars and wrapped them with the red and white Bakers Twine. Such a cute card and could be used for a man or a woman.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you tomorrow.

Hugs,
June

Love and Care

Good morning everyone! It is a good morning. My daughter is home safe and looking forward to getting done what has to be done and returning to California as soon as possible.

Sure wish the humidity would drop. I feel like I am in Michigan also except there are no flying bugs. It has sure been a warm week but after all it is summer, right? I think I will spend some time down at the bay this month just to be cooler. It will be nice walking along the bay on Shelter Island and having lunch at the Red Sail In.

Must finish this post and get busy designing the cards for July's card class which is this Saturday at 1 pm at my home. If you live in the area we would love to have you join us. Just please email me by tomorrow am and let me know so I can cut cardstock for you. We will be celebrating a birthday this month and I'm sure we will have a blast!!

For this card I used Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White cardstock. The stamp sets are both hostess sets from the Summer Mini, Love and Care and Swirls and Curls Verses. I love both these sets. I used the Big Shot and the Scallop Squares Duo Die and the Finial Press Embossing Folder. The ribbon is 1 1/4" Certainly Celery Stripe. Of course the image layer is put on with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also used a piece of the Whisper White Bakers Twine and colored it Rich Razzleberry by running it across the ink pad and holding down with a Dauber and then tied it around the other ribbon. I love the look.

Hope you like this as much as I do and will make one of your own.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

June

Presto Patterns

This has been a good day. My daughter made it home to Michigan today, safe and sound. Continue to pray for her and her husband through this trying time for them. With God's grace everything will go well and they will be in San Diego by the first of the year. Her job is waiting for her so that is a plus.

This paper was one of my favorites and of course it is gone now. I still have some to play with for my own cards and believe me I will use it.

For this card I used Basic Gray for the card. First layer is Pretty in Pink, next is Basic Gray and the top one is the Presto Patterns DSP. My wide oval is in Rich Razzleberry and the Scallop Oval is Whisper White and the sentiment is in Rich Razzleberry ink.
I used Basic Gray and Rich Razzleberry from the Stampin' Pastels to color my DSP. The ribbon used is Rich Razzleberry Satin layered with Whisper White Organza. I love the look of those 2 ribbons together.

Hope you will make one for yourself.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

June

Elegant Soiree

Happy 4th of July week-end everyone!! I hope to see some really good fireworks over the valley tonight and tomorrow night. We have such a great view from our back patio. It is hot in Southern California, just like it is every where today but thank God our humidity is not too high.

I have lost by BFF for a few months and that saddens me but I know she will be back by the 1st of the year. I will miss her greatly and I wish her the very best while she is gone and will be praying for her and her hubby. She has a tremendous task ahead of her so please if you get a moment say a prayer for Laurie Gibson. She is also my daughter.

I have finally gotten around to my June class cards. We made a box that holds 12 cards and envelopes and 5 pretty cards. I will show you the box later.

For this card I used Baja Breeze 4 1/2 x 11. I put a layer of Soft Suede 4 1/8 x 3 3/4 on that and then layered a piece of Elegant Soiree DSP 4 x 3 3/4. For the card insert I used Soft Suede 4 x 5 and Very Vanilla 3 7/8 x 3 3/4. I used the corner rounder on all corners and the hole punch and mat set to punch the card and ribbon for the Filigree Brad. I used both Early Espresso and Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and a few Basic Rhinestones to set it off.

I hope you like it and will try one on your own.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

June
