Swirls and Curls Verses

Finally the last card of the July card class. Today I am cutting for the Christmas-Stamp-a-Stack this Saturday. We have five ladies for Saturday and another five for Tuesday. 20 cards each makes for a lot of cutting. Wish I had a Tami helper like Ronda Wade does. I sure could use one. The only one possible is another demo Lauren Foster but she is getting ready to move to Montarey, CA. So she really doesn't have any extra time. I am really going to miss her positive attitude, smile and all around great personality. She's a terrific girl!

For this card I used the new Island Indigo cardstock for the base card 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. The first layer is also new, Pool Party 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. The DSP is Paisley Petals 3 7/8 x 5 1/8, I just love this paper. The sentiment is from Swirls and Curls Verses (hostess set) and is stamped in Island Indigo on Whisper White 2 x 4. I took a piece of Island Indigo 1 x 4 and punched it with the Scallop Eyelet Border Punch and punched the two butterflies from Island Indigo also. For a little "bling" I used a strip of 3 Basic Rhinestones (the ones that are joined together) for the butterfly bodies. I really love this card and so did the class.

Hope this inspires you to create something with the new colors and some "bling".

Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you next week with the Christmas cards
Hugs,
June

Swirls and Curls Verses

This has been such a busy week. It's been filled with classes, doctor's appointments and shopping. I finally got my hair curled today so it looks much better. My hair is so straight you could use it for a ruler without measurements on it. It is also thin and very fine so it really needed something. I finally found a good hair dresser so I am very happy today.

Now it's time to get busy and do my 28 swap cards for my friend, Lauren. She is hosting a swap and is also getting ready to move. She's a busy lady as well. I will be putting my swap card up a little later down the road.

This is number 5 for the July card class. I love the cupcake builders punch. It is so easy to make cupcakes with no fuss or messy ink.
I started with a Very Vanilla card 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. My Chocolate Chip layer is 4 x 5 1/2 and punched on one long side with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. Next layer is Very Vanilla 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 and stamped with Happy Birthday from the Swirls and Curls Verses stamp set. I wrapped a piece of Chocolate Chip Scallop Polka Ribbon around both layers before adhereing them to the card front. Of course the cupcakes were punched with the Cupcake Builders Punch in chocolate chip and pretty in pink cardstock. I just love this card and so did my ladies. It's so easy to make.

Hope this inspires you to purchase the punch if you haven't already and design a card of your own. Of course you are free to copy this one as long as you don't use it for a contest or any challenge.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

Hugs,
June

Love and Care

Good morning everyone! It is a good morning. My daughter is home safe and looking forward to getting done what has to be done and returning to California as soon as possible.

Sure wish the humidity would drop. I feel like I am in Michigan also except there are no flying bugs. It has sure been a warm week but after all it is summer, right? I think I will spend some time down at the bay this month just to be cooler. It will be nice walking along the bay on Shelter Island and having lunch at the Red Sail In.

Must finish this post and get busy designing the cards for July's card class which is this Saturday at 1 pm at my home. If you live in the area we would love to have you join us. Just please email me by tomorrow am and let me know so I can cut cardstock for you. We will be celebrating a birthday this month and I'm sure we will have a blast!!

For this card I used Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White cardstock. The stamp sets are both hostess sets from the Summer Mini, Love and Care and Swirls and Curls Verses. I love both these sets. I used the Big Shot and the Scallop Squares Duo Die and the Finial Press Embossing Folder. The ribbon is 1 1/4" Certainly Celery Stripe. Of course the image layer is put on with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also used a piece of the Whisper White Bakers Twine and colored it Rich Razzleberry by running it across the ink pad and holding down with a Dauber and then tied it around the other ribbon. I love the look.

Hope you like this as much as I do and will make one of your own.

Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.

Hugs,
June

Swirls and Curls Verses

I have been under the weather a little the last few days. Dr. says too much stress in my life and it caused my Vertigo to go crazy and I have been dizzier than usual. Guess I have to relax more because I know I don't like my bed swirling when I get in it.

Card classes were awesome again this month. I just love my ladies who attend each month. Each one is very special to me. I can hardly wait for the 1st of July so I can share the new catalog with them. So many awesome new stamp sets and accessories.

For this card I started with Wild Wasabi 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Next layer is Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4 and put through the Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder. I stamped the sentiment in Rose Red ink. The flowers are made with the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch from the summer mini. I like the look it gives to arrange the flowers in different colored layers. The bow is made with Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon. To add a little 'bling' I put a Basic Rhinestone in the center of each flower.

Thanks for stoppin in! and I'll see you real soon.

Hugs,
June

Swirls and Curls Verses

I imagine you were wondering when I would post again. Well, I am finally back. It has been a busy week with our son leaving and our daughter returning and card classes and workshops and and every day life. I am amazed that I am still able to function properly.

We had so much fun at the card classes this week. I had two new ladies and they are just wonderful people and fit right in with the regular group. This is the first of the 8 cards we made. If you would like to be part of our fantastic group next month just email me at june.switzer@yahoo.com and let me know. I will be happy to email you details and welcome you to our group.
