Good Sunday morning to you all! It is another hot day in Southern California around 90 degrees again today. We are supposed to cool down tomorrow and continue dropping the rest of the week. Sure hope so, I am thankful for air conditioning but am getting tired of always having it on. Some cool fall temps would be great!
This is the first card from our August monthly card class. We did two Christmas cards because some had not been able to do the stack and wanted some each month until December in our regular class.
This card was done in Riding Hood Red 4 1/4 x 11. The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4 and I stamped it in Always Artichoke ink with the bough from the stamp set Bells & Boughs. I left enough room at the bottom to stamp my sentiment in Riding Hood Red ink. The scallop square is from the Scallop Square Duo die done in Riding Hood Red cardstock with the Big Shot(my favorite tool). If you don't have one you should think about it. For the month of September anyone who holds a workshop with me will get $10 off the Big Shot. The Whisper White square is 2 1/2" and the image is stamped in Basic Gray ink. I used Always Artichoke and Riding Hood Red to color the leaves and ribbon. The finishing touch is 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain ribbon tied with one knot in the center before applying to the card.
Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.
Hugs,
June

A Christmas Carol
Well, I still don't know what has happened on my blog. I tryed to do a new template but it won't let me do that either, so I guess I will have to live with it like this until it decides to change. At least I can post a card so here goes the last card in our Christmas Stamp-a-Stack set for August.
For this card I used Cherry Cobbler 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. On the card I adhered a strip of dsp 1 x 4 to each side from the package of Letter to Santa DSP. Next layer is Very Vanilla 3 3/4 x 4 and I stamped the image in Always Artichoke from the new stamp set A Christmas Carol. The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla 5/8 x 3 and layered on a 3/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Cherry Cobbler. I finished it off with a 6" piece of the new Cherry Cobbler Quilted Ribbon. I love it. Real old fashioned appeal!!

On the inside I stamp another image from the same set and the verse from the same set. Very professional looking inside or so they tell me anyway. Hope you have fun making this and all the other cards we made in this stack.
Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.

Delightful Decorations
Good Monday morning all!! It is another beautiful morning here but supposed to get warm in the afternoon close to 90 degrees. Oh well! that's what air conditioning is for.
This is another of our Christmas cards we made in class. This is my second favorite after the Come to Bethlehem one.
For this card we used Delightful Decorations and Four the Holidays stamp sets. The cardstock is Night of Navy 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 for the card. Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4. Next layer is Night of Navy 3 3/4 x 5 and punched twice with the Ornament Punch. We then layered that layer on the white and stamped the two ornaments. Then we removed the layer and put packing tape on the back over the punched out ornaments. We then put dazzling diamonds on the packing tape. When you then put the layer over the white the ornaments are gorgeous and sparkly. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White 3/4 x 3 3/4 and layered on Bashful Blue 1 x 4. The finishing touch is the bows made with silver cord. I love this card.
Below is the inside of the card. We put parchment paper inside and stamped the verse from Christmas Greetings stamp set and a stamp from the ornament set on it.
Thanks for stoppin in and I hope you like this card as much as I do. See you soon.
Happy stamping til next time..................................

Come to Bethlehem
It's another gorgeous Sunday morning in Southern California. Just had a great breakfast at I-hop and am now ready to start my day of stamping. I haven't had a lot of time for just stamping for fun but I think that's what I will do today.
We did our Christmas stamp-a-stack on Aug 6th and here is the first of the 4 cards that we made. We did 5 each of 4 different designs with envelopes. It was a fun time and I think we all learned a few new things.

For this card I used the Come to Bethlehem stamp set. Cardstock is Concord Crush 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, Brushed Gold 4 x 5, and Shimmery White 3 3/4 x 5. We stamped the images in Versa Mark ink and used Gold Embossing Powder and the heat tool to make these beautiful images. We used the ticket corner punch on the corners of the white and tied a length of gold cord around the top two layers of cardstock. I stamped the star only on the back and front of the envelope. Gorgeous card!!
For the inside we used parchment paper and stamped the verse and the Merry Christmas from the same stamp set on it and embossed them in gold also. Very professional looking.
Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you soon.

Big Shot Class July
Wow! It is the middle of August already. Unbelieveable!! This year is flying by and it's time again for our Holiday Mini to come live the first of September. So if there is anything you want from the Summer Mini you had better get your order in by August 31. That is when it expires.
In July we had a lot of fun using the Big Shot and those who had just bought one learned how to use it. We had 20 minutes of instructions to start with and then a couple hours of fun making the projects below.
We did three cards and two boxes for our first class. Card one has the leaves cut with the Little Leaves Sizzlit and a frame done with the new Designer Frames Embossing Folder and we used punches for the sentiment. Card number two we used the Scallop Rectangle Clearlit to cut a rectangle in the center and put dsp behind it. We then stamped the sentiment on the cut out rectangle and adhered it to the card. The third card was for Christmas. We used the Magnetic Mover and Shapers die with the ornament magnet from the Holiday Windows set - it cuts your card and image out at the same time. What an awesome tool!!!!
Box number one was made with the Fancy Favor die and decorated with doilies and punched pieces. What a treat it was to get a bag of jelly beans with it. Everyone really liked the first box. The second box was done with the Scallop Envelope die and we cut two of them and we made four 3 x 3 note cards to go in it. We used die cuts from a scrapebook kit to decorate the cards. What a fun day we had! Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon!

Swirls and Curls Verses
Finally the last card of the July card class. Today I am cutting for the Christmas-Stamp-a-Stack this Saturday. We have five ladies for Saturday and another five for Tuesday. 20 cards each makes for a lot of cutting. Wish I had a Tami helper like Ronda Wade does. I sure could use one. The only one possible is another demo Lauren Foster but she is getting ready to move to Montarey, CA. So she really doesn't have any extra time. I am really going to miss her positive attitude, smile and all around great personality. She's a terrific girl!
For this card I used the new Island Indigo cardstock for the base card 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. The first layer is also new, Pool Party 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. The DSP is Paisley Petals 3 7/8 x 5 1/8, I just love this paper. The sentiment is from Swirls and Curls Verses (hostess set) and is stamped in Island Indigo on Whisper White 2 x 4. I took a piece of Island Indigo 1 x 4 and punched it with the Scallop Eyelet Border Punch and punched the two butterflies from Island Indigo also. For a little "bling" I used a strip of 3 Basic Rhinestones (the ones that are joined together) for the butterfly bodies. I really love this card and so did the class.
Hope this inspires you to create something with the new colors and some "bling".
Thanks for stoppin' in and I'll see you next week with the Christmas cards

The Open Sea
This Saturday is my Christmas-Stamp-a-Stack day. If you live in the area, we would be happy to have you join us. Please email today if you would like to do that.
Here is our patriotic card for July with the red, white and blue. I love this stamp set and will be sorry to see it go the end of this month. However, we have some great new things coming in the Holiday Mini which comes live on September 1. If you aren't in any of my classes or clubs, email me your address and I'd be happy to send you one.
For this card I used Real Red cardstock 4 1/4 x 11 for the base card. The piece from Nautical designer series paper is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. I then cut two Scallop Oval Frame pieces with the Big Shot. One from Real Red and one from Whisper White and used one piece from each to make the frame. I stamped the clipper ship and anchor and compass in Night of Navy ink. I added a strip of Real Red Satin Ribbon and a piece of the red and white Bakers Twine for detail. The anchor and compass are put on with dimensionals. I really like this card and hope you do too.
Thanks for stoppin in and I'll see you soon.
Hugs,
June
