Wedding Card

This card was inspired by the sketch challenge on Mojo Monday (Mojo158). I really loved this layout and I especially love the Concord Crush in-color. It is such a royal shade of purple and therefore fits a royal occassion such as a wedding.

I am so glad the temp is down today. Yesterday we hit a record 113 in Santee but at 1:15 today it is only 85. What a drop and how greatly appreciated. Didn't go out for anything yesterday except the mail.

Time to give details on this fabulous card.

Stamp sets: Tiny Tags and Occassional Quotes

Ink: Concord Crush

Cardstock: Concord Crush, Concord Crush dsp and Whisper White

Accessories: In-color Glitter Brads, Modern Label Punch, Small Heart Punch, 1/2 inch Concord Crush Striped Poly Ribbon, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and dimensionals

Thanks for stoppin in!

Have a blessed day!

Autumn Days

I need a couple of masculine birthday cards this month so this is the first of two. I really like this set. It reminds me of fall in Michigan. Driving through the countryside you see lots of Pheasants and pine trees and wheat. This time of year I really miss home and getting ready for the holidays with all the family. We have been in Southern California for two years already and I don't think I will ever get used to not having snow at Christmas and the beautiful leaves in the fall. I do like to spend a lot of time in the mountains now because it feels more like home there. My husband has done so well here however, that there is no chance of ever going back to live.

This card is simple but nice and easy for new stampers to do. I will use this for a make-n-take at my next workshop as most of my customers are new to stamping. It would also be good for a card class with new stampers. Can't believe I got through this one without thwacking or using the Big Shot. Wow!!

Stamp sets: Autumn Days and Occasional Quotes

Cardstock: Crumb Cake for the card
Cajun Craze layer 4 x 5 1/4
Naturals Ivory layer 3 3/4 x 5

Ink: Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze

Accessories: Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Always Artichoke markers, Modern Label and Designer Label punches, Early Expresso Grosgrain 1/4" ribbon, snail and dimensionals

I hope you like it and will get inspired by it.

Thanks for stoppin in!

Thanks

It's been a busy day! My workshop turned out very well and we're still open until next week, so who knows. I also have a potential hostess and perhaps a recruit so it was a very prosperous day also. I have so much fun at workshops, sharing what I love and seeing everyone have such a good time. I have been very surprised that at my 4 recent workshops I have had more new stampers than experienced ones. That has been so thrilling to see what they can do their first time.

I made this card this morning before my day really started but I didn't have time to post it before I had to leave, so here it is. I told you yesterday you would see a lot of this stamp set in coming days. Fall is my favorite time of the year and of course coming from Michigan I miss the changing of the leaves and raking them. You will probably see a lot of oranges, browns, golds and reds from this site for the next month or two. I also decided to enter this in the Techno Stamper challenge for this week. Anyway on with the new creation. I did another version of the same card and decided I liked this one better so I have changed the image. Hope no one minds and that you all like it better.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Sets: Harvest Home and Thank You Kindly

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla and Wild Wasabi dsp.

Ink: Black Stazon, Wild Wasabi

Accessories: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi markers, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, 1/2 inch Circle Punch, Wide Oval and Scallop Oval Punches, and the 5 Petal Flower Punch, Gold Brad and dimensionals. I also used the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder. Looks more finished this way.

This card was so much fun to create and I really love this stamp set and the new dotted scallop ribbon border punch. So Coooool!!!!

Thanks for stoppin in!

Harvest Home

Awhile back I told you our team finally had a name. Since then my up-line has informed me that we couldn't have that name because it was to close to someone else's. We now are official with the name of ATT-Always Thumpin' and Thwackin'. Today I decided to start living up to our team name so I went all out on this card thumpin' and thwackin'. I love the look it gives and it's fun to do.

I also was on Create with Connie and Mary's site and decided to enter this in their current ccmc 117 inspiration challenge. The cake colors inspired my color choices for this card and then I chose the stamp set. Thanks girls for another great challenge. You all should try it at least once. Challenges are so fun and inspiring.

This is my first card for the fall season other than Halloween. I wanted this set for so long and finally purchased it last month. It will be used a lot in the coming months. I hope you get inspired by it.

Stamp set: Harvest Home

Ink: Early Expresso, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive also these 3 markers.

Cardstock: Early Expresso Card, layers are 2 3/4 x 3, 1 1/8 x 3, 1 1/4 x 4, Old Olive layer is 4 x 5 1/4, Pumpkin Layer is 3 3/4 x 5 and Very Vanilla layers are 2 5/8 x 2 3/4, 7/8 x 2 3/4, 1 x 4. I ran the Pumpkin Pie and all 3 layers of Very Vanilla through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice folder after I stamped them. I then thwacked everything with all 3 colors. "WOW". I love it. Only other accessory was the dimensionals.

You really need the Big Shot, you can do so much with it and it totally changes the look of your cardstock. You can purchase it here.

Thanks for stoppin in!

Simply Said

I wasn't going to post until tomorrow morning, however I found out tonight that I have to post so I can meet the challenge on Stampin 411 by 8a.m. EST on Thursday. I won't be up at 5 in the morning to do that, so must get it done tonight.

I just finished this card which is my Make-n-Take for my workshop on Saturday. I am excited about doing it. I really enjoy the workshops, meeting so many new people and having a great time sharing what I love to do.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Set: Simply Said

Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Very Vanilla

Ink: Black Stazon

Accessories: Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait markers, 1/2" Poppy Parade Stitched Poly Ribbon, dimensionals and snail.

The card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Peach Parfait. Left layer is 2 1/2 x 4 piece of Poppy Parade layered with a 2 1/2 x 3 3/4 piece of Very Vanilla. Right under layer is a 2 1/2 x 2 3/4 piece of Poppy Parade layered with a 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 piece of Sunny Garden dsp. Then the ribbon is stretched around the front of the card and adhered with snail. Top layer is a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of Peach Parfait layered with a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Poppy Parade and that is layered with a 2 x 3 piece of Very Vanilla.
Images are stamped in black Stazon and flowers are colored with the markers.
I just love how fresh and clean and bright it looks. Whoo Hooo!

I can't believe I made a card without the Big Shot. Amazing!!!

Jolliest Time of the Year

It's a beautiful fall day in Southern California today. Just in the mid 70's and a nice breeze blowing. I would so like to go to the mountains today for cider and apple pie. This month and next are Apple Festival days in Julian. I just love it up there away from all the traffic and people. It's such a nice small town with very quaint shops and one wonderful candy shop that I don't seem to be able to pass up.

Any way a little about my last but not least Christmas past card. The background is done with the direct to paper technique. I like the different look to it and depending on how you do it you can make it look different each time. Colors used were Real Red and Garden Green on Whisper White paper

A Wish for Peace

The week-end is over and it's time to get back to work. We had a great week-end. The expo on Saturday was not what we expected but we met so many nice vendors who were with other companies, made friends, booked workshops, got orders and sold a few things we had made. Altogether it was a successful day. Had family over that night for cards and the girls whipped the guys in Canasta so we had a lot of fun.
We started Sunday off right with a Champagne brunch at the 94th Aero Squadron in San Diego. Such great food and a nice time with family. Of course the rest of the day we just kind of did whatever as we weren't in the creating mood, so we played board games instead.
Now it's Monday morning and time to get busy.

Here is the fourth card in my Christmas Past series. I really love this stamp set. It has such a majestic look to it and you can do it so many different ways.

This was done with some retired paper that I don't remember the name of. We used Sierra Sand and Taken with teal cardstock with it. Whisper White cardstock and ribbon. Simple but nice. Sometimes simple is better.

Snow Swirled

This is the third in my Christmas past series. I used dazzling diamonds on this one. They are my favorite form of sparkle to put on a card.

I really have come to like blues on the Christmas cards instead of the traditional reds and greens. Blue has such a calming majestic look, I think. It is soothing and you can get a real Wow effect if done right.

Gifts of Christmas

This is number 2 in my Christmas share cards. I love this set. It is so peaceful looking.

I again used the oval treatment and the Petals of Plenty folder. Gold brads hold each corner in place. Hope you like this as much as I do.
Our expo did not have the turnout we expected, however, we met some other nice vendors and had a lot of fun. We got to sample some dove's chocolate and smooth some very nice lotion on our skin. Had chips and a salsa mix from the Pampered Chef lady and a very nice boxed lunch. I booked one workshop so I feel it was a good day.

Peace On Earth

I have been so busy getting ready for tomorrow's expo, that I haven't had time to make a new card. I decided to post some of the past Christmas cards that I still have. This is one of 5. I love this color combo, Whisper White and Brushed Gold. They look so elegant together. I just hate it that Stampin' Up discontinued the silver and gold elastic cord. I loved it on Christmas cards especially.

This was an easy card to make. I'm sure most of you can figure it out. I also used the Bride dsp which is also discontinued. I was hoping they would bring this into the new catalog as well. I love the effect of the oval in the center and the Petals of Plenty embossing folder as well. The star I believe was from the Holy Family stamp set also retired.

I must be in a retired mood today since I picked a card with a lot of retired things used for it. I really am working however, not retired.

I am hoping to get some workshops booked and maybe a recruit or two tomorrow. Pray for me please. I really want to grow my business and so far have not gotten a recruit. Maybe this week!!

SCALLOP CIRCLE PHOTO ALBUM

I have been working diligently on another project for the expo on the 18th. It is this beautiful Scallop Circle Photo Album that will also go in your purse. They just turned out so gor-ge-ous, I can't believe it! Wow!

I used the Big Shot and the Scallop Circle Die. For this one I had some of the large Daisie Flowers from the Pretties kit left and decided to use them. I sponged them first with Regal Rose and then the edges with Rose Red. I used the largest flower in the Punch Potpourri Hostess set from the Holiday Mini for the center of the flower and added a clear basic rhinestone for some bling! Ooooh! Wow! I have some others that I will post tomorrow so you can see the contrast.

I made one of these for a granddaughter earlier this year. Her first baby was about 6 mos old at the time and I did a series of his pictures from birth to present for it. She really loved it and it just turned out so cute! It would make a nice first birthday gift for the parents. It is so easy to make.

Have visitors coming from Michigan tonight and a workshop tomorrow, so it might be a couple days before I post again.

Thanks for stoppin in!

PURSE PHOTO ALBUM

My how time flies. I can't believe it has been 5 days since my last post. I have been getting ready for a vendor expo that I'm doing on the 18th of this month in Mission Valley, California for the Railroad Convention wives. I also have a workshop this Saturday the 11th and visitors coming from Michigan on the 10th(they will be here until the 22nd) and a party for all September birthdays in the family on the 11 th and another workshop on the 25th. Wow! What a busy month this will be. So glad I don't have children to get ready for school. I would really be bonkers then!

This is one of the items I am going to be selling at the expo, it's a photo album for your purse made with the top note die. I used some of my discontinued DSP and current cardstock and window sheets that are retired. I am using some plain window sheets that are current also. The rings I found at the M store. I'll be tieing some 1/4 grosgrain ribbon on them also for a little flair.

I love making these and the ones with the scallop circle die also. I will show those when I get some done.
We just returned from dinner at Outback for my daughters birthday and I am so stuffed. The steaks were delicious and the carrot cake was to die for. We all thanked her for having a birthday so we could indulge in all that sinful food.

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend. It has been so nice here today, cooler and sunny, beautiful day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Friday is my oldest sons birthday and I designed this card today for him. He loves animals and right now he has 3 Boxer dogs and several barn cats. The younger Boxer male is a big baby. He's about 3 years old and he cries like a baby when he doesn't get the attention he thinks he should get. Anyway on with the card.

I started with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Early Expresso for the main card. I layered that with a piece of Cajun Craze 4 x 5 1/4. The next layer is Very Vanilla 3 3/4 x 5. I used the stamp set, Natures Silouettes and the sentiment from Well Scripted (retired). I miss this set for demonstrating. I stamped all my images in Early Expresso. Only accessories were dimensionals. Very simple but nice male card.

Thanks for stoppin in!

Have a blessed day!
